Helping the Helpers, Scholarships Awarded for Ubercamp 2.0
Commerce Guys is excited to bring two Ubercart rockstars with us to Ubercamp.
Last month, Commerce Guys went in search of good candidates for a couple of two all expense paid scholarships to Drupalcamp Colorado/Ubercamp to reward consistent contributors to the Ubercart community. The scholarships were offered to anyone who had contributed core Ubercart patches, contributed modules, or non-codey things like forum and IRC support. We were fortunate to have many contributors to choose from and boiled the candidates down to two guys who day after day help build the Ubercart community. The happy winners are Tim Rohaly (TR) and Erik Peterson (torgosPizza).
- TR, has written several contributed modules, including: Canada Post Shipping Quotes for Ubercart, FedEx Shipping Quotes for Ubercart, IP-based Determination of a Visitor's Country, Multi-Currency Support for Ubercart, Package Tracking for Ubercart, Reorder button for Ubercart, and Percent Rate Shipping. For someone who has helped the community so much, TR has never had the chance to meet any of the Ubercart community! TR hopes to use this time to exchange ideas with the other Ubercart community members.
- torgosPizza has been using Ubercart since the Alpha days. Some of his contributions include: alpha and beta testing, extensive insight and participation in the development of Ubercart's file downloads feature, similar support for the Ubercart Marketplace module, the Upsell module, and maintenance of the Gift Certificates module. torgosPizza was able to meet the Commerce Guys at Drupalcon DC 2009 and hopes to share and trade information once again to help the growth of Ubercart.
We look forward to joining them both in Denver!

Nice initiative. Do these people have real names?
They sure do! Updated the original post. : )
Thanks, guys. I'm not sure I consider myself a "rockstar".... I still have much to learn, am learning more every day, and the chance to go right to the source for it is always an honor.
